Garage Conversion Plans

The Local Authority Building Control requires detailed plans for all garage conversions. These plans need to include a detailed specification covering the structure, materials and methods to be used in the conversion work.

As approved partners of the LABC, we can supply you with detailed plans and a specification for your garage conversion that will be approved by your local authority.

This means that once the plans are done, you can get competitive quotes for the building work, safe in the knowledge the finished conversion will conform to all the latest regulations.

Garage conversions rarely require planning permission, as long as they are integral to the house. But they often require that a covenant placed on the property, which prohibits use of the garage for anything other than storage, is overturned before approval can be given. This involves making a full planning application to the local authority; but, unlike normal planning applications, no fee is charged by the authority.
